If you’re using UPS, USPS, or FedEx as the sleigh to deliver any of your holiday packages, you’ll need to know their holiday cut-off dates in order to get presents under the tree by Christmas morning. We’ve compiled the major dates to be mindful of before shipping for the holidays. It’s always smart to add a day to your own shipping cut-offs to account for inclement weather or any unexpected events. Put the reminder on your phone’s calendar to save yourself from scrambling in a few weeks.
2017 UPS send-by dates for U.S. deliveries
Monday, December 18: Deadline for UPS 3 Day Select (delivery on Friday, December 22)
Wednesday, December 20: Deadline for UPS 2nd Day Air (delivery on Friday, December 22)
Thursday, December 21: Deadline for UPS Next Day Air (delivery on Friday, December 22). UPS 2nd Day Air service is available for delivery before Christmas Day (delivery on Saturday, Dec. 23). These packages must be processed and labeled for Saturday Delivery and Saturday Delivery is not available to all ZIP codes.

2017 FedEx send-by dates for U.S. Deliveries
Friday, December 1: Deadline for FedEx SmartPost shipments, which does not provide day-definite delivery. Transit times are typically 2 to 7 business days within the contiguous U.S.
Friday, December 15: Deadline for FedEx Ground shipments.
Monday, December 18: Deadline for FedEx Home Delivery shipments.
Tuesday, December 19: Deadline for FedEx Express Saver shipments.
Wednesday, December 20: Deadline for FedEx 2-Day and 2-Day AM shipments.
Thursday, December 21: Deadline for FedEx Standard Overnight, Priority Overnight, and First Overnight shipments. You may ship FedEx 2-Day shipments on Thursday, December 21 for delivery on Saturday, December 23 if Saturday delivery is selected. A $16 Saturday delivery fee will apply per package.
Friday, December 22: You may ship FedEx First Overnight and FedEx Priority Overnight shipments on Friday, December 22 for delivery on Saturday, December 23 if Saturday delivery is selected. A $16 Saturday delivery fee will apply per package.
Monday, December 25: Deadline for FedEx SameDay shipments. With FedEx SameDay service, you can ship on Christmas Day or any other day of the year. SameDay isn’t a 100% guarantee that it will arrive on Christmas Day, but if you have a shipping emergency it could be a possible option.
