If hit with this surcharge, your wallet will definitely feel it. The surcharges will increase by 67 and 125 percent, respectively. FedEx will also increase its fuel surcharge as the cherry on top of its surcharge sundae.

Why is FedEx increasing these surcharges?

E-commerce purchases have expanded to the point you can even buy your next mattress through Amazon. With the rise in online orders, products that come in a variety of sizes need to be shipped around the nation.

FedEx wants to curb shippers from sending oversized items through its network. Both UPS and FedEx are discouraging large, bulky packages because they require additional handling from employees and major adjustments when planning the logistics. Basically, FedEx will charge you outrageously for any inconvenience.
