The shipped package below is flagged with the exception “Local delivery restriction – Delivery not attempted.” The screenshot below is an example of what a customer might see. The shipment was on the vehicle for delivery at 9:23 am, but at 9:54 am the delivery exception occurs.
What is a FedEx delivery exception?
Fedex defines delivery exceptions as what “occurs when a package is temporarily delayed while in transit. Every effort is made to deliver every package as soon as possible, so an exception does not necessarily denote a late shipment. The status exception explains the most recent exception in the scan activity section.”
Are you missing refunds?
Speed is important when it comes to parcel auditing. For all shippers, there’s a limited window of time immediately following an invoice being posted to your account where claims and disputes can be filed against billing mistakes. During this time, each refund must be captured, else lost forever, and with that, the quality of the audit is in-part dependent on the speed in which that audit occurs.
